Ethiopian Construction Design and Supervision Works Corporation (ECDSWCo.) is transforming from a consultancy company to an engineering and investment group. The new group, called Ethiopian Engineering and Investment Group (EEIG), will have three main business units: consultancy, construction, and investment.
The construction business unit of EEIG will focus on high-end complex projects, such as high-rise commercial and residential buildings, real estate, infrastructure, and water and energy sector construction. EEIG-Construction will also grow into a conglomerate of several business units, including piling, underground and foundation works, fit-out, energy (solar solutions), electromechanical solutions, facility management, landscape, and construction materials production.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Review payment requests for accuracy, completeness, compliance, level of authorization, and clarity on the invoice.
- Verify that the payment request is accurate and complete, including all required documentation.
- Ensure that the payment request complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Check that the payment request has been authorized by the appropriate person.
- Make sure that the invoice is clear and easy to understand.
- Make sure the completeness of payment application document before submission.
- Ensure that all required documentation is included with the payment application.
- Check that the payment application is complete and accurate.
- Check that no supportive documentation or signature are missing before releasing any payment.
- Make sure that all required documentation is present, including invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.
- Verify that all signatures are present and authorized.
- Prepare Cheque and Cheque payment vouchers and keeping the cash book up to date.
- Prepare cheques and cheque payment vouchers for approved payments.
- Keep the cash book up to date, recording all payments made and received.
- Ensure Payments are prepared for and from the right project and Budget.
- Make sure that payments are made for the correct project and budget.
- Verify that payments are made within the approved budget.
- Ensure withholding tax, income tax and other government obligation are deducted before any payments has been made.

- Supervise the petty cash fund handled by the cashier/accounts clerk on a timely basis, this include daily count and reconciliation accuracy of petty cash request and replenishment form made before check is issued for replenishment.
- Supervise the petty cash fund on a daily basis.
- Count the petty cash on a daily basis and reconcile it to the petty cash ledger.
- Ensure that petty cash requests are accurate and complete before issuing a cheque for replenishment.
- Collect Bank Advices and following bank correspondences as required.

- Communicate supplier to collect cheque for ready payment.
- Contact suppliers to let them know that their cheques are ready for pickup.
- Store unused cheques in a safe place.
Qualification
- B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics from a recognized university
- 3 years experience in Accounting / Disbursement
- Demonstrated experience working in a construction firm is an asset.
