UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfil their potential.
Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone. And we never give up.
The UNICEF Internship Program in Ethiopia offers qualified university students and recent graduates a unique opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in UNICEF’s work under the direct supervision of experienced UNICEF staff.
Purpose of the internship
U-Report is a messaging tool that empowers young people around the world to engage with and speak out on issues that matter to them. It works by gathering opinions and information from young people on topics they care about – ranging from employment to discrimination and child marriage. U-Reporters respond to polls, report issues and support child rights. The data and insights are shared back with communities and connected to policy makers who make decisions that affect young people.
Under the supervision of the Programme Specialist (Refugee Coordinator/Youth Engagement Specialist and with engagement with the Social Policy Officer), the U-Report intern will play a key role in assisting the U-Report and Youth Engagement initiative in Addis Ababa to build a strong U-Report community.
Under the supervision of the Programme Specialist, the intern will undertake the following tasks:

- Coordinating online with youth organisations to gather ideas and input for promoting U-Report Ethiopia.
